Almost Complete - New Concept Bariatric Ambulance
A great deal of development work has gone into what is a totally new way of looking at transporting obese patients and is culminating in the latest bariatric ambulance designs for both ASNSW and ACTAS. Starting with the premise of no-lift, "no-struggle-to-load" the new ETT design incorporates the new DHS powerlift stretcher and ETT's own powered tyne-glide loading system. Add to this full airbag suspension for the ultimate ride comfort, new FRP and alumium extrusion wall construction for lightwieght yet incredibly strong rear compartment and you start to get just an inkling of the revolution that is the new ETT bariatric vehicle design. Stay posted for further updates as the vehicles hits the road very soon.
A great result for all round and a project which ETT was proud to be involved.

OUCH! These Sprinters are sure safe
Recently Sydney SW Area Health patient transport ambulance had a close encounter with a car that veered onto their side of the road and drove straight into them. The ambulance is a write off, as you can see, but thanks to the integral safety features of the vehicle both diver and co-driver walked away, a little shaken but not seriously hurt. Meanwhile everything in the back stayed exactly where it was designed too. Yet again it's a real testament to the inbuilt safety of the new generation of Sprinter van and ETT’s rigorous testing and construction techniques.

Who Needs a Caddy
The ambulance education unit that's who. ASNSW now has a fleet of VW Caddy's on the road fitted with an education module. There’s one for shows and promotions – a mini ambo and a number of Extended Care Paramedic Units – a bit like a rapid responder unit. The rear of the vehicle has been converted by ETT to carry equipment as needed for training purposes in the regions or the rapid response scenario and incorporates false floor with under floor storage, storage netting, and upper deck storage. The Caddy vehicle is great on the road - quick, nimble, and sticks to the road like it's on rails.

Crank It Up
Over the past 2 months the ETT production lines for ASNSW have been working extremely well with 64 ambulances coming off the line and being dispatched to the regions. A great effort and a real show of how streamlined ambulance production can work.
